Arya Samaj's marriage ceremony rituals are similar to Hindu Marriage ceremony rituals. The groom's age must be 21 years or older and the bride's age must be 18 years or older. This same tradition follows in both traditions. But the Arya Samaj Marriage ceremony is conducted according to Vedic rituals.

Arya Samaj Marriage is not equivalent to getting the marriage legally registered. After completing the marriage, your marriage is registered at the magistrate's office under some applicable laws.

If the bride and groom both belong to the Hindu culture, then you should apply for your marriage certificate under the Hindu Marriage Act, of 1954. But if the couples are belonging to different religions, then you can apply for a marriage certificate through the Special Marriage Act, of 1955.

The Supreme Court refused to issue Arya Samaj's marriage certificate and said Arya Samaj has no business giving a marriage certificate. This is the work of the strong authorities. They said this while hearing a petition for bail on Friday. Ajay Rastogi and BV Nagarathna especially refused to accept an Arya Samaj Certificate.

While hearing another matter from Madhya Pradesh, In April 2022, they said Arya Samaj weddings solemnized do not need registration under the special marriage act. That doesn't mean they do not need to register their marriage.

The supreme court said, Arya Samaj marriages also apply for marriage certificates with the help of Arya Samaj Marriage Validation Act (AMA).
